Calendula (a.k.a. Marigold) is a heavy hitter for all things medicinal. This plant can be used internally or externally to help heal tissues.
Externally, it’s often used on burns or wounds to help rebuild the skin. You’ll often find the flower in tinctures or salves.
Internally, it’s used to help aid digestion and reduce inflammation. It’s a delicious tea and looks beautiful in a cup!

Calendula has been used in traditional medicine for centuries, with evidence of its use dating back to Ancient Greece, Egypt, India, and the Arabic empires.
Beyond its medical benefits, calendula can also be used in cooking, as a dye, and as a symbol of happiness and simplicity.
Yarrow
-
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) has a wide range of medicinal uses, primarily for its anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, and antimicrobial properties. It's traditionally used for wound healing, fever reduction, and addressing various digestive issues. Yarrow can be applied topically for wounds, skin irritations, and to help reduce bleeding. Internally, it's often consumed as tea or in other forms to support the immune system, improve digestion, and potentially alleviate menstrual cramps or multiple sclerosis symptoms.

Beyond its medicinal properties, yarrow also holds spiritual significance, being used in rituals and believed to offer protection and ward off negative energy.
Echinacea

All parts of this plant can be used medicinally, even the roots! More often you’ll see the flowers and leaves be used in teas and tinctures. It’s a powerhouse herb that’s known for its ability to stimulate the immune system.
It's commonly used for colds, flu, bronchitis, and upper respiratory infections. Echinacea is also thought to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, making it useful for skin conditions like boils and wound healing.

WE'RE MOVING
WE'RE MOVING
It’s old news that running a small farm is chalk with uncertainty. After a year of farming in West Sacramento, CA the land has been sold to a developer which means that Root&Rise is looking for a new place to root.
Leaning into the plants to teach adaptability, we’re on the hunt for the next location.
